Melody Guest House is a friendly and welcoming establishment and you will be treated to our warm hospitality and quality service in an effort to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. These terms and conditions are to ensure that every guest’s experience is of a high quality.
Please be aware once you have made a reservation with us, regardless of fact that you booked directly or via an agent, you will be bound by the following terms and conditions listed below.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Please note that you must inform us at the time of booking if you have any special requirements.
These requirements include special dietary needs and preferences, medical and related reasons or mobility and physical impairments which might impact your stay.
We will endeavour to do our best to accommodate most of your requirements. Prospective guests are encouraged to book early as this will allow Melody Guest House to prepare maximum flexibility in accommodating you. Inevitably due do circumstances beyond our control we cannot accommodate all requests.
CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES
Check-in: from 14h00. Late arrivals need to be arranged with management.
Check-out: before 11h00 – late check-outs need to be arranged with management at least the day prior to departure.
Early arrivals: Early check-in is only possible if the room is ready for occupation. If not, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the guest house while you go out and explore or you are welcome to have a cup of tea and relax in our lounge or garden until your room is ready.
ACCEPTED MEANS OF PAYMENT
We accept MasterCard and Visa credit/debit cards, EFT and cash. EFT payments need to reflect in our account prior to arrival. By law we are not allowed to accept any foreign currency.
USE OF ACCOMMODATION AND VISITORS
No persons other than those booked for and checked in are permitted to share the accommodation.
In the event that it is possible to accommodate any extra person/s in the same room, an additional charge will become payable. The final decision regarding the accommodation of additional persons in the same room rests entirely with the management of Melody Guest House.
Under special circumstances visitors for the guest will be allowed, but only with prior approval by management. Approved visitors will need to register however brief the stay. Visitors are not allowed to stay the night or beyond certain times agreed with management beforehand. Visitors will also only be allowed to access the public areas and may not enter any bedroom.
SMOKING
Please note smoking in public places is illegal and smoking is only permitted in demarcated areas.
Smoking in any of the buildings is strictly prohibited. A cleaning levy of R500 per incident is payable in the event of any transgression of the smoking rules.
DAMAGE TO MELODY GUEST HOUSE PROPERTY
Any damage caused by guests or their visitors to property and premises due to bad behaviour or carelessness, or keys lost and replaced for security reasons will be for the guests account.
PETS
Strictly no pets are allowed without prior arrangement and formal approval from management.
Guard and service dogs are welcome and provision is made in specific rooms to accommodate them.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Guests agree on behalf of themselves and the members of their parties that neither the establishment, its owners, employees nor agents shall be responsible for any injury or death of any person or the loss or destruction of or damage to any property upon the premises, whether arising from fire, theft or any cause and by whomsoever caused or arising from the negligence (gross or otherwise) or wrongful act of any person in the employment of the guesthouse.
Any luggage or personal belongings are the responsibility of guests and Melody Guest House is not liable in the event of something going missing or being damaged. Rooms must be locked at all times when guests leave the room.
RIGHT OF ADMISSION
Right of admission to Melody Guest House is reserved in the sole discretion of management. We reserve the right to cancel any stay or booking found to be in violation of our terms and conditions, or behaving in an anti-social manner, which upsets other guests and staff. Please note these terms and conditions are to ensure everyone has a great time while staying at our guest house.
